Change.

People change for two reasons:
-either they have learned enough that they want to change

or

-they have been hurt enough that they have to.

Crazy Old Lady.

My store is filled with a bunch of old folks. We have several retirement homes in our area. Yesterday served as another reminder why I will never grow up. You become so mean and miserable! This customer in particular had purchased two boxes of oatmeal mini packs. She explained to me that, when she went to make oatmeal for her husband, there was a big mess on her shelf and that she had to clean her shelf (she wasn't very happy about that either). She proceeded to take one of the boxes and shake it on my counter. I now had a pile of oatmeal sitting in front of me. I opened one of the boxes and examined some of the mini packs and found that there were tiny holes in the corner of the packaging. I pointed them out and explained that these were obviously defects from the manufacturer. I offered her two replacements (which she declined) before giving her a refund. I completely understand her actions and wanting me to see what happened to her at home, but I still find her actions rude.

San Francisco, baby.

As I continue my travels throughout the States and one day the World, I recently found myself, for the first time, in San Francisco, CA. I owe this venture to one of my best friends, Brandon. Ever since my first visit to Portland, OR, I have been anxious to see places outside of my home. Every new city is fascinating. Atlanta seems more and more like a shithole every time and I never look forward to coming back. Each new destination sends my boyish sense of adventure and wonder sky high. There is something absolutely amazing about visiting new places and so many new things to explore. Looking back at myself, I would have never thought that I would have visited the places I have thus far. San Francisco was absolutely amazing. It is nestled between the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay. I have grown a liking for cities that are near some source of water. I believe it really makes a huge difference in the city. Too bad Atlanta is not that way.

My next trip is going to take me back to Portland in March. I must visit Shawn and others. It has been the longest amount of time I have been away from that city. I plan on going to the coast this trip as well as Mount Hood. Portland city life is great, but there is still much to see in Oregon and for one, I have not stepped foot onto the Pacific coast.

The world is perfect and beautiful, but it is even more incredible when you experience it with someone else. Of all my favorite experiences, none of them occurred while I was alone. This is so true.
